AEC-Q101 qualification — the automotive gate
For a procurement or design engineer, that qualification is the difference between a part that is acceptable for an under-hood module and one that is not.
Switching performance and gate-drive budget
The gate charge is rated at 72.5 nC at 10 V. That figure determines how much current your gate driver must deliver to switch the MOSFET at a given frequency.
Package and mounting — PowerFlat 5x6 with wettable flanks
The STL115N10F7AG comes in an 8-lead PowerVDFN package, supplier device code PowerFlat 5x6. The 5 mm by 6 mm footprint fits standard power-stage layouts. The wettable flank option is a production-friendly feature: it allows the solder joint to climb the side of the terminal, making the connection optically inspectable after reflow. For automotive lines that mandate AOI on every board, this saves a manual X-ray step.
The part is ROHS3 compliant. If you need a second source for dual-sourcing, ST's own STripFET F7 family includes several 100 V N-channel parts in the same PowerFlat 5x6 footprint; compare the Rds(on) and current rating to match your load conditions.
