The 525 V Vdss gives a healthy margin for universal-input flyback designs (up to 400 V DC bus) and 3-phase rectified rails. The 2.5 A continuous rating is a steady-state ceiling; the 11 nC typical gate charge at 10 V keeps switching losses low enough for moderate-frequency converters (50–150 kHz). The 2.6 Ω Rds(on) is specified at 10 V drive, so a 12 V or 15 V gate supply is preferred — a 5 V logic-level drive will not fully enhance the channel, and you will see significantly higher on-resistance.
That means no further production runs from the factory; the only supply channel is the independent distribution and surplus market. For new designs or long-term production, you will want to evaluate a pin-compatible replacement within the SuperMESH3™ family or a similar 525 V N-channel TO-220FP MOSFET from ST or another vendor.
