The STF40N20 is supplied in a TO-220 Full Pack (TO-220FP) package, which is a fully isolated variant of the standard TO-220. It fits the same 3-pin through-hole footprint but has a moulded back — no metal tab for direct heatsink contact. The standard TO-220 and TO-220FP are not mechanically interchangeable without adjusting the heatsink interface.
