Package and mounting — TO-220FP isolated tab
The TO-220 Full Pack (TO-220FP) through-hole package has a fully isolated metal tab — no conductive backside. That means you can mount it to a grounded or shared heatsink without a mica or silicone pad, which simplifies the mechanical assembly and improves thermal contact. The three leads are standard 0.1-inch pitch, easy to solder into a plated through-hole PCB or wire to a terminal block. Through-hole mounting suits point-to-point wiring on a prototype board or a production power supply where vibration resistance matters.
