The STF18NM60ND: The TO-220 Full Pack (TO-220FP) package provides full isolation from the heatsink, removing the need for an insulating pad in through-hole assembly.

The 600 V Vdss rating gives headroom for 400 VDC bus rails in single-ended or two-switch forward converters, and for 230 VAC offline flyback designs with derating. Gate charge of 34 nC at 10 V is moderate for a 600 V part in this current class; it keeps switching losses manageable at frequencies up to 100 kHz in a typical hard-switched converter.
