Bidirectional TVS for 22V rail protection

The 22V reverse standoff voltage (V_RWM) means this device will not conduct appreciably below 22V, so it sits quietly across a 22V supply rail. When a transient exceeds the minimum breakdown voltage of 24.4V, the TVS clamps the surge to a maximum of 48.3V. The 48A peak pulse current rating (8/20µs waveform) gives the energy-handling capacity for typical ESD or lightning-induced surges. For a 22V rail, the clamping margin is about 2.2× the rail voltage — adequate for most ICs rated at 30V or higher, but check the downstream device's absolute maximum rating against 48.3V.
