Obsolete — sourcing path for the P6KE47CARL
The STMicroelectronics P6KE47CARL is listed as obsolete.
What this bidirectional TVS diode does
The P6KE47CARL is a bidirectional Zener transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diode from the P6KE TRANSIL™ series. It is designed for general-purpose overvoltage protection and clamps transients on a single line. With a peak pulse power rating of 600W and a minimum breakdown voltage of 44.7V, it protects a 40.2V nominal rail by clamping at 84V maximum under a 48A peak pulse current (8/20µs waveform). The single bidirectional channel means it handles both positive and negative transients in one device — no need to orient it on the board.
Package and mounting
Housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial leaded through-hole package, the P6KE47CARL mounts into a standard 0.4-inch lead spacing footprint. The axial form factor suits point-to-point wiring on terminal strips or PCB through-hole layouts. Capacitance measures 400pF at 1MHz — a consideration for high-speed data lines where added capacitance may degrade signal edges.
