600W TRANSIL™ — what it protected and why it's gone
The STMicroelectronics P6KE18ARL is a 600W peak-pulse Zener TVS diode from the P6KE, TRANSIL™ series, designed to clamp transients on a 15.3V rail. Its 17.1V minimum breakdown and 32.5V maximum clamping define the protection window — any spike above 32.5V gets clipped, and the device absorbs 123A (8/20µs waveform) without failing. That 1600pF capacitance at 1MHz is typical for this power level, so it's not a candidate for high-speed data lines, but it's fine for DC power buses, relay coils, and general-purpose board-level transient suppression in industrial or telecom gear.
