64 Kbit SPI EEPROM for under-hood temperatures
The STMicroelectronics M95640-DWDW4TP/K is a 64 Kbit serial EEPROM on the SPI bus, organized as 8 K x 8 bits. A sensor module or ECU sitting near the exhaust manifold on a summer day sees 125°C ambient; this part still has 20°C of margin before the upper limit. The SPI clock rate reaches 20 MHz, giving a read throughput of 20 Mbit/s — fast enough to load calibration tables or boot code without stalling the host controller.
Package and board-fit — 8-TSSOP, field-swappable
The 1.27 mm pin pitch is hand-solderable with a fine-tip iron — no hot-air station required for a field swap if you have steady hands and a flux pen. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) for pick-and-place lines or Cut Tape (CT) for prototype and low-volume builds. The ROHS3 compliance means no exemption expiry risk on EU or global BOMs — the part is free of restricted substances per the current directive.

How it compares to the 1.8 V sibling
If the design is 1.8 V only, the DRDW3TP/K is the drop-in. The temperature grade also differs: the DWDW4TP/K reaches 145°C, while the DRDW3TP/K is rated to 125°C. For an engine-bay ECU that sees 130°C under load, the DWDW4TP/K is the only fit.
