6-axis combo in a 28-LGA package
The LSM303DLHTR is a 6-axis inertial module combining a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis magnetometer in a single 28-LGA package measuring 5x5 mm. Communication runs over I²C, a two-wire bus that keeps the pin count low and simplifies routing on space-constrained boards. Rated for -30°C to 85°C ambient, the sensor suits indoor and sheltered outdoor applications where the electronics enclosure stays above freezing.
Obsolete — sourcing reality
STMicroelectronics has marked the LSM303DLHTR as obsolete.
Board integration notes
The 28-LGA module (5x5 mm) has a land-grid-array footprint with a central exposed pad for thermal and mechanical attachment. The I²C interface requires pull-up resistors on the SCL and SDA lines; the bus capacitance budget must include the sensor's input capacitance plus trace and any other slaves on the same bus. Surface-mount assembly follows standard LGA reflow profiles — no special bake required unless the moisture-sensitive level (MSL) rating on the reel label indicates otherwise.
