Six-channel ESD clamp in an SOIC-8
The STMicroelectronics ESDA6V1U1 is a six-channel unidirectional Zener-based ESD protection array from the ESDA, TRANSIL™ series. It packs six separate protection diodes into a single 8-SOIC package, each rated for a 5 V reverse standoff voltage with a minimum breakdown of 6.1 V. The array can handle 200 W peak pulse power per channel, making it suitable for clamping fast transients on data and I/O lines in general-purpose electronics.
The ESDA6V1U1 is obsolete per STMicroelectronics' lifecycle status. Sourcing is limited to the independent distribution channel, where available inventory is quoted against an RFQ.
The 6.1 V minimum breakdown ensures the clamp triggers before the protected IC's absolute maximum input is reached. Six unidirectional channels in a single SOIC-8 footprint save board space compared to discrete diodes, but note that power line protection is not supported — these are signal-line protectors only.
