The STMicroelectronics ESDA6V1-5M6 packs five unidirectional Zener-type ESD protection channels into a 6-µQFN package measuring 1.45 x 1.0 mm — a dense array for guarding multiple signal lines on a single IC. Each channel clamps at a minimum breakdown of 6.1 V, with a reverse standoff of 3 V, meaning it stays out of the way on 3.3 V or lower voltage rails and only conducts when the transient exceeds the threshold. The 100 W peak pulse power rating covers IEC 61000-4-2 ESD strikes and small inductive surges, but not direct lightning or mains-coupled events — keep it on the data-line side of the board.
70 pF per channel — what it means for signal integrity
Capacitance per channel is 70 pF at 1 MHz — modest for a general-purpose ESD clamp, but high enough to degrade edge rates on high-speed differential pairs like USB 2.0 or 100 Mbps Ethernet. For sub-10 MHz interfaces (I²C, GPIO, UART, keypad matrix) the loading is negligible. If your design runs 480 Mbps USB or 1000BASE-T, look for a part with sub-5 pF per line; this array suits slower buses where the extra capacitance buys a lower clamping voltage.
Surface-mount in a 6-UFDFN package with a 1.45 x 1.0 mm body — no thermal pad to worry about, but the small footprint means the PCB land pattern needs tight registration. The part carries no power-line protection rating, so it is intended for signal-line clamping only, not for the DC input rail.
