35 ns trr — the defining spec for a fast-recovery rectifier
The BYW100-200RL is a standard fast-recovery rectifier diode from the BYW100 series, rated for a 200 V DC reverse voltage and 1.5 A average rectified current. Its 35 ns reverse recovery time (trr) is the key parameter that sets it apart from a standard recovery diode — it allows the diode to switch off quickly, reducing switching losses and ringing in high-frequency rectifier stages, flyback snubbers, and freewheeling diode positions. The forward voltage drop is specified at 1.2 V at 4.5 A peak current, giving a reasonable conduction loss for the current rating. Reverse leakage is 10 µA at the rated 200 V blocking voltage.

Package and mounting — DO-15 axial lead
The diode is housed in a DO-204AC (DO-15) axial-lead package, through-hole mount. The operating junction temperature maximum is 150 °C, which is typical for silicon rectifiers and allows operation in warm environments provided the lead temperature is managed.
