Small-signal Schottky pair for 48 V rails and 24 V flyback
The STMicroelectronics BAT46AWFILM is a dual Schottky diode array in a common-anode configuration, housed in a SOT-323 package. It is rated for a 100 V reverse voltage and 150 mA average rectified current per diode — a combination that puts it in the small-signal Schottky class but with headroom for 48 V bus clamping or 24 V industrial flyback suppression where typical 30-60 V Schottkys would be marginal. Forward voltage is 450 mV at 10 mA, keeping conduction losses low in signal-level steering or protection circuits. Reverse leakage is 5 µA at 75 V, which is acceptable for most low-power applications but worth noting if the diode sits at elevated junction temperature for extended periods — leakage doubles with every 10 °C rise above 25 °C.
SOT-323 rework and orientation
The package is marked with a cathode band on one side; under a hot-air station at 300 °C for 30 seconds the part reflows cleanly without pad lifting if the board is preheated to 100 °C.
