The STMicroelectronics 1.5KE62ARL is a unidirectional Zener transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diode from the 1.5KE series, branded TRANSIL™. The part delivers 1500W peak pulse power per the 10/1000 µs waveform, with a breakdown voltage of 58.9V and a clamping voltage of 111V at the rated peak pulse current of 90A (8/20 µs waveform). It comes in a through-hole DO-201AA / DO-27 axial package, suitable for board-level protection where a soldered leaded device is preferred over surface-mount.
The 1500W rating (10/1000 µs) tells you the device can absorb a single high-energy transient without failing. For a 53V standoff voltage, that translates to a substantial surge-handling margin on a 48V nominal bus or a 48V telecom line. The 1700pF capacitance at 1 MHz is non-trivial; on high-speed data lines it will load the signal, so this part is better suited to power-supply or low-frequency protection than gigabit Ethernet or USB 3.0.
STMicroelectronics lists the 1.5KE62ARL as obsolete.
