Transient protection for 28 V rails — 1500 W rating
Its 28.2 V reverse standoff voltage suits 24 V nominal systems where the rail can ride up to 28 V during normal operation. The breakdown voltage range starts at 31.4 V, and clamping is limited to 59 V at the peak pulse current of 169 A (8/20 µs waveform). Peak pulse power handling is 1500 W (10/1000 µs), which covers most industrial surge requirements for a 24 V bus.
That saves board space and BOM count compared to placing two unidirectional TVS diodes back-to-back. The capacitance is 1350 pF at 1 MHz — typical for a 1.5 kW axial TVS — so it is fine for DC power protection but may load high-speed signal lines above a few MHz.
DO-201 axial package — legacy through-hole fit
The leads are tin-plated copper; the body is molded epoxy. Mounting requires a drilled PCB hole or terminal block — no surface-mount reflow. The axial lead bend radius must be kept above 2 mm to avoid cracking the glass passivation on the die.
Expect no factory lead time; the stock is what the open market holds.
