Isolation barrier and drive strength for gate-drive applications
The SI8274AB4D-IS1R: Rated for 2500Vrms isolation with approvals from CQC, CSA, UR, and VDE, this isolator meets the safety barrier requirements for gate-drive circuits in motor drives, power inverters, and industrial power supplies where reinforced isolation is specified. The 4A peak output current (1.8A source, 4A sink) directly drives the gate capacitance of medium-power IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs without an external booster stage, reducing component count on the gate-drive PCB.
Switching speed and common-mode transient immunity
A minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 200kV/µs ensures the output state does not glitch when the ground plane between primary and secondary sides slews at high dv/dt — a critical parameter in motor-drive and switching-power-supply applications where the isolation barrier sees fast voltage transitions during each switching cycle. The pulse-width distortion is specified at 47ns maximum, which sets the minimum on-time the isolator can pass without skewing the duty cycle — relevant for narrow-pulse gate-drive signals in resonant converters.
Operating range and supply flexibility
The output-side supply voltage spans 4.6V to 30V, accommodating both 5V and 12V gate-drive rails as well as 24V industrial bus supplies without an external regulator.
