LIN bus physical layer in a small exposed-pad package
The receiver includes 175 mV of hysteresis for noise rejection on the bus, which matters when routing the LIN line through the engine bay or near ignition-noise sources. The junction temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C means this transceiver is specified for under-hood and other high-temperature automotive environments where standard commercial-grade parts would fail.
Supply rail and temperature — the fit decisions
The 5V to 18V supply range covers the nominal 12V automotive battery voltage with headroom for load-dump transients.
Package and layout — 8-HVSON exposed pad
The 8-HVSON package measures 3x3 mm with an exposed pad underneath. That pad must be soldered to a PCB thermal land and, ideally, connected to a ground plane via thermal vias to pull heat out of the die. Without that thermal management, the junction temperature will rise faster under load, eating into the 150°C margin. The supplier device package is designated 8-HVSON (3x3), so the footprint matches standard 8-pin DFN patterns with a center pad.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The part is ROHS3 compliant.
