Dual Schottky in a TO-220F — what it is and where it fits
The NXPS20H100CX,127 is an NXP Schottky rectifier diode configured as a 1-pair common cathode in a TO-220-3 Full Pack, Isolated Tab package. Each diode is rated for 10 A average rectified current with a maximum reverse voltage of 100 V. The forward voltage is 770 mV at 10 A, and reverse leakage is 4.5 mA at 100 V. The isolated tab simplifies heatsink mounting — no insulating pad needed — which saves assembly time and improves thermal contact in through-hole power supplies, DC-DC converters, and OR-ing circuits.
Fast recovery and what it means for the switching loop
The recovery speed is rated as fast recovery — less than 500 ns at currents above 200 mA. For a Schottky, this is the expected behaviour: the majority-carrier structure inherently switches fast, so the 500 ns ceiling is a conservative bound. In a 100 kHz forward converter or PFC stage, the diode will not contribute significant reverse-recovery loss, keeping the switching node clean and the heatsink smaller than a comparable ultrafast silicon diode would require.
Thermal and mechanical — the TO-220F advantage
The TO-220F full-pack case isolates the tab electrically while keeping the thermal path short. Junction temperature is rated to 175 °C maximum.
Lifecycle and sourcing — active, no LTB watch needed
The NXPS20H100CX,127 carries an active lifecycle status. There is no end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy window, and no successor part to track. For a BOM freeze or a production line, this means zero obsolescence risk over the foreseeable planning horizon.
