Switch performance and signal integrity
The NX3L4684GM,115 is a dual SPDT analog switch from NXP, configured as a 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer per channel. Its headline on-resistance of 750mOhm max keeps insertion loss low in audio and data paths, while channel-to-channel matching of 40mOhm ensures consistent attenuation across both switches — important for differential or stereo signals where gain mismatch is audible. Crosstalk is rated at -90dB at 100kHz, meaning the isolation between channels is high enough for 16-bit audio or low-frequency analog multiplexing without bleed-through. The -3dB bandwidth of 20MHz supports switching of composite video or baseband data up to that frequency, though the 45ns turn-on and 20ns turn-off times set the practical switching rate.
Supply range and precision analog handling
Charge injection is 50pC typical — low enough that sample-and-hold circuits or precision integrators see minimal voltage glitch when the switch opens. Leakage current in the off state is 10nA max, which keeps the droop rate negligible on a holding capacitor in the nanofarad range. The 10-XQFN package (1.55mm x 2.0mm body) is a fine-pitch, leadless land-grid array — suitable for compact handheld or IoT designs where board space is tight, but the 0.5mm pad pitch requires a controlled solder-paste stencil and X-ray inspection for void-free joints.
