Frequently asked questions

Does the external program memory requirement force a specific flash chip or boot configuration?

The MIMXRT1011CAE4A has no internal Flash — program memory is mandatory over the FlexSPI interface. A SPI NOR flash partner must be specified on the BOM and its boot configuration (quad mode, dummy cycles, SFDP) validated before production release, particularly at qty 100+ where a flash substitution without re-qualification is a BOM risk.

Is this a drop-in replacement for our existing RT1010 board with 80-LQFP?

No. The 80-FQFP (12x12mm) package geometry differs from the standard 80-LQFP footprint — the pin count matches but the pad pattern and lead style do not. A board layout designed for 80-LQFP will not accept the FQFP variant without layout re-spin.
