SSOP-16 footprint — rework and layout notes
Housed in a 16-SSOP package with a 0.209-inch body width and 5.30 mm footprint, this is a fine-pitch surface-mount device. Standard reflow profiles for SSOP apply; no special bake is required if the moisture barrier bag is intact. The 5.2 mA per-channel output drive is typical for 74HC-family bus buffering — adequate for driving a few CMOS inputs or short PCB traces, but not for heavy loads like relays or long cables.
Six inverting buffers — what the logic type means
This is a hex inverting buffer with push-pull outputs (not open-drain). Each of the six elements handles one bit. The inverting function means the output is the logical complement of the input — useful for signal polarity inversion, clock shaping, or driving active-low inputs.
