Dual 4:1 multiplexer in 16-SSOP
The NXP 74HC253DB,118 is a dual 4:1 data selector/multiplexer from the 74HC high-speed CMOS logic family. Each of the two independent circuits selects one of four data inputs and routes it to a single output, controlled by common select lines. Output drive is rated 7.8 mA sink and source at the rated supply — enough to drive a standard CMOS load or a single TTL input, but not a high-fanout bus without buffering.
Housed in a 16-SSOP (0.209", 5.30 mm width) surface-mount package, the 74HC253DB,118 shares the same footprint as the standard SOIC-16 but with a narrower body. The 1.27 mm pitch is compatible with most PCB assembly processes; the 0.209" width requires a narrower pad layout than a standard SOIC-16 wide-body. Single-supply operation simplifies the power rail — no split supplies or negative rails needed.
