7 A slow-blow in a 1206 footprint
The Littelfuse 1206SFS700F/24-2 is a 7 A, 24 V DC surface-mount fuse from the SFS series, packaged in a standard 1206 (3216 Metric) footprint. Its slow-blow characteristic means it tolerates brief inrush currents — think capacitor charging or motor start — without nuisance opening, while still clearing sustained overloads. Rated breaking capacity is 60 A at 24 V DC, so it safely interrupts faults up to that level without arcing or rupturing the ceramic body. The 10 A²s melting I²t gives a sense of the energy needed to melt the element — useful for coordinating with downstream components.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Littelfuse has marked the 1206SFS700F/24-2 as obsolete. The part carries UL recognition (approval agency UL), which simplifies acceptance in UL-listed equipment.
Board-fit note for rework and replacement
The DC cold resistance of 0.01 ohms means the voltage drop at 7 A is only 70 mV — negligible in a 24 V rail. Tape & Reel or Cut Tape packaging is available for prototyping or production.
