6 A, 24 VDC slow-blow protection for low-voltage rails
The 1206SFS600F/24-2: Its 60 A breaking capacity at the rated voltage means it can safely clear a fault up to 60 A without rupturing the package — critical for protecting the PCB trace and downstream components in a hard short. The slow-blow response time is designed to ride through the inrush current of capacitive input filters or DC motor starts without nuisance opening, while still clearing sustained overcurrent conditions. The 0.011 Ohm cold resistance produces a 0.066 V voltage drop at 6 A — negligible for a 24 V rail but worth factoring into the load regulation budget.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
If the board design can tolerate a parametric alternative, a 6 A, 24 VDC slow-blow fuse in the same 1206 footprint from another series or manufacturer would require a qualification cycle — re-testing the melting I²t coordination and the voltage drop across the new part. The 8.5 A²s melting I²t is the coordination benchmark to match.
UL recognized — safety standard for North American installations
The fuse carries UL recognition, which certifies it meets the Underwriters Laboratories standard for overcurrent protection devices. This is a practical requirement for equipment sold into North American markets where UL listing is specified in the safety certification of the end product.
