15 A fast-blow fuse in 1206 — what the ratings mean
The Littelfuse 1206SFH150F/24-2 is a 15 A, 24 VDC fast-blow surface-mount fuse in the SFH series, packaged in a 1206 (3216 metric) footprint. The 15 A current rating at 24 VDC covers moderate-load secondary-side protection in telecom, industrial control, and battery-management circuits where a fast-opening characteristic is needed to limit let-through energy to downstream semiconductors. Its 100 A breaking capacity at the rated voltage means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 100 A without rupturing or sustaining an arc — important when the available fault current from a 24 V supply rail can exceed the fuse's continuous rating by several times. The 0.005 ohm DC cold resistance keeps voltage drop low at rated current — about 75 mV at 15 A — so the fuse does not introduce significant I²R losses in the power path.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Littelfuse has marked the 1206SFH150F/24-2 as obsolete. The UL recognition (approval agency listed) means the fuse has been tested and listed to UL 248-14 for supplemental overcurrent protection — a requirement for many North American industrial and medical equipment designs.
