Voltage window and clamping performance
The 1.5SMC550CA: The reverse standoff voltage is 495 V — the maximum DC or AC peak voltage the diode blocks without conducting appreciable leakage. This window means the protected circuit sees no more than 760 V across its terminals during a surge event, which is critical for downstream semiconductor withstand ratings. A single bidirectional channel handles both positive and negative transients on the same line, simplifying PCB layout for AC or bipolar DC buses.
Surface-mount assembly with tape-and-reel packaging supports automated pick-and-place for volume production.
