1500 W peak pulse — what the rating means for the BOM
Rated 1500 W peak pulse power at 10/1000 µs waveform. This is the energy-handling ceiling for a single transient event — a 36 A peak pulse current into the 41.4 V clamp voltage dissipates that 1.5 kW within the waveform duration. Reverse standoff voltage is 25.6 V; the device remains transparent below this DC bias. Breakdown occurs at 28.5 V minimum, clamping at 41.4 V max. For a 24 V nominal rail, this provides a ~1.6 V guard band before the TVS starts conducting leakage. Single unidirectional channel — polarity matters in the layout. The cathode band on the DO-214AB SMC package must face the protected rail; reverse insertion shorts the line.

DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package. The standard SMC footprint with a 0.050-inch (1.27 mm) pad extension on each side handles the 1500 W thermal pulse. Junction temperature range -65°C to 150°C covers military and industrial extremes.
