The 1.5SMC24A is a 1500 W peak-pulse-power Zener TVS diode from Littelfuse's 1.5SMC series, built to shunt transient energy away from a 20.5 V nominal rail. When the incoming spike exceeds the 22.8 V minimum breakdown voltage, the device clamps at 33.2 V max, passing up to 45.8 A of the 10/1000 µs surge waveform before the silicon recovers. The 20.5 V reverse standoff means this part sits across a 20 V or 24 V supply bus without conducting in normal operation — it stays dark until the transient arrives.
