TVS diode parametrics and board fit
The 1.5SMC16: Its 23.63 V maximum clamping voltage at 67.6 A peak pulse current means it holds transients well below the typical 30 V rail tolerance of downstream 24 VDC circuits. Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, also designated as the SMCJ footprint, it mounts directly to a PCB pad with a standard reflow profile. The -55°C to 150°C junction temperature range suits it for outdoor or under-hood environments where thermal cycling is a given.
