Clamping voltage and breakdown margin
The 1.5SMC150CA: The reverse standoff voltage is 128 V — the TVS draws negligible leakage below this level, so it stays invisible to the protected circuit during normal operation. This 64 V window between standoff and clamp gives the designer margin for transient energy without triggering false clamping on rail ripple. The single bidirectional channel protects one signal pair or a single-ended rail referenced to ground, common in AC line or DC bus applications where the transient can swing either polarity.
Package and board integration
Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, the 1.5SMC150CA reflows with standard lead-free profiles. The supplier device package is also listed as DO-214AB (SMCJ) — the footprint is identical across both designations. Power line protection is not supported — this is a signal- or low-power-rail clamp, not a mains surge suppressor.
Active production — sourcing posture
Littelfuse lists the 1.5SMC150CA as Active in production.
