1.5kW bidirectional TVS for telecom signal-line clamping
The 1.5SMB27CA: Single bidirectional channel means it clamps both polarities on a signal pair — no need for two unidirectional diodes in anti-series, which saves board space on telecom line cards where ESD and lightning surges hit the twisted pair. The 23.1V reverse standoff sits below common telecom rail voltages (24V or 48V nominal) so the TVS stays off the line during normal operation and only conducts during a fault, keeping leakage to a minimum.
DO-214AA surface-mount package and temperature range
Operating junction temperature range spans -65°C to 150°C, covering outdoor telecom cabinet thermal extremes (cold start at -40°C and solar load at +85°C ambient) with margin for self-heating during the surge event. Surface-mount tape-and-reel packaging (TR) supports automated pick-and-place assembly; the SMB body is large enough for visual inspection after reflow but small enough for high-density line card layouts.
