Voltage ratings and clamping performance
The 1.5KE8.2A-B: When a transient exceeds the breakdown voltage, the diode clamps the surge to 12.1 V maximum, shunting up to 125.6 A of peak pulse current away from the protected load.
Package, mounting, and temperature range
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the 1.5KE8.2A-B is designed for through-hole mounting on a PCB or terminal block — the axial leads allow it to be inserted into plated through-holes and soldered on the opposite side. The bulk packaging means the parts are shipped in tubes or trays, suitable for hand-placement or low-volume automated assembly.
It is a general-purpose TVS diode with no power-line protection feature, so it is intended for signal-line or low-voltage DC rail clamping rather than AC mains surge suppression.
