Obsolete Zener TVS — sourcing for legacy BOM lines
The 1.5KE8.2-B: The reverse standoff voltage of 7.02V means the diode does not conduct at normal 5V or 3.3V rail levels; it only activates when a transient pushes the line above the breakdown threshold of 7.38V min.
Package and deployment context
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial leaded package (supplier device package DO-201), this through-hole component mounts into existing board layouts with standard lead spacing. As a general-purpose TVS, it protects sensitive downstream silicon from surge events on DC power rails, signal lines, or low-voltage bus structures. It is not rated for power line protection — the application boundary is secondary circuits, not mains input.
