1500W peak pulse — where this TVS fits
The Littelfuse 1.5KE75 is a 1500W (1.5kW) peak pulse power Zener TVS diode in the 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on signal or DC power rails where the working voltage sits at 64.1V reverse standoff.
Clamp voltage and the protected rail decision
It is a unidirectional device (single channel), so it clamps only one polarity — suitable for DC rails where the transient is positive with respect to ground; for AC or bidirectional protection a different part in the 1.5KE family would be needed. The datasheet notes no power line protection, which means this TVS is intended for secondary-side signal or low-power DC bus clamping, not for mains AC input surge suppression.
Package and thermal envelope
The 1500W peak pulse rating assumes a 10/1000µs waveform at 25°C; derating above 25°C follows the standard power-temperature curve for axial TVS diodes — at 175°C the peak pulse capability drops to roughly zero.
