The 1.5KE7.5CA: It clamps at 11.3V maximum and handles 134.5A peak pulse current — this is the pair that decides whether a transient gets clamped before the downstream silicon sees it. Reverse standoff is 6.4V typical, breakdown starts at 7.13V minimum. For a 5V rail with a 10% tolerance, the 6.4V standoff leaves no headroom — this part is sized for a 3.3V or lower rail where the steady-state voltage stays well below the standoff threshold.

DO-201 axial — board-fit and thermal

Through-hole DO-201AA / DO-27 axial package, supplier device package DO-201. The axial leadform means the body sits off the board — the leads absorb thermal expansion and vibration, but the part needs mechanical support if the board sees high-G shock. Wave-solder profile is standard; hand-solder with a 35W iron, 3-second dwell on the pad, not the lead. The 1500W rating is derated above 25°C per the datasheet curve; at 125°C ambient the peak pulse power drops to roughly 60% of the 25°C value.
