The 1.5KE550: It clamps transient overvoltages at 798 V maximum when the surge current hits 2 A, protecting downstream circuitry from lightning-induced spikes, inductive load dumps, and ESD events on 495 V nominal rails.
Supplied in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, through-hole mounted. The axial format suits point-to-point wiring on terminal boards or through-hole PCB layouts where a surface-mount TVS would not survive the same surge energy.
