1500W peak pulse, 361.2V clamp — the protection ceiling
The 1.5KE250: The reverse standoff voltage is 214V typical, meaning the device does not conduct appreciably below this DC voltage. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 225V, ensuring the TVS remains transparent during normal operation and only clamps when the transient exceeds the standoff threshold.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Littelfuse has marked the 1.5KE250 as obsolete.
The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C. This covers industrial and many automotive under-hood environments; the 175°C upper limit provides margin above the 150°C typical for many TVS diodes, suiting applications where ambient temperatures are elevated, such as motor drive cabinets or power supply outputs. The single unidirectional channel means the device protects one polarity rail. For bidirectional or AC-line protection, two devices in anti-series or a dedicated bidirectional TVS would be needed.
