What this 1.5KE180 TVS diode does on the board
It clamps transients at 258.3 V maximum when the peak pulse current hits 6.2 A, and its reverse standoff voltage is 154 V — meaning it stays out of the way on a 150 V rail and only starts conducting when the line sees a surge above that level.
Package and handling on the bench
Housed in a DO-201AA axial leaded package (also known as DO-27), the 1.5KE180 is a through-hole part. The leads are long enough for hand-soldering or wave solder, and the body is clearly marked with the part number and polarity band — orientation is obvious, so you can swap it in the field without a microscope.
Sourcing and compliance
Littelfuse marks the 1.5KE180 as obsolete. We source this part through independent distribution; lot traceability and RoHS/REACH compliance documentation are available at RFQ.
