The Littelfuse 1.5KE16A-TB is a 1500W peak pulse power Zener TVS diode in the 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on general-purpose DC power and signal lines. Its 13.6V reverse standoff voltage means it stays transparent below that rail, then breaks down at a minimum of 15.2V and clamps at 22.5V maximum under a 67.6A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-leaded through-hole package suits point-to-point wiring or PCB mounting where a robust mechanical anchor is needed.
For a 12V or 15V rail, this clamp margin is comfortable; for a 5V rail, a secondary clamp may be needed to keep the protected device within its abs-max rating. The 1.5KE series is unidirectional (one channel), so it protects against positive transients referenced to ground. If the application sees bidirectional surges (e.g., AC lines), a bidirectional variant from the same family would be the correct fit.
