Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
The 1.5KE120 is listed as Obsolete by Littelfuse Inc. This means the manufacturer has discontinued production, and the part is no longer available through authorized distribution channels for new orders. For existing BOM lines or repair stock, the 1.5KE120 is sourced through independent surplus and broker channels. Availability and pricing are lot-specific and confirmed at the time of an RFQ — no standing stock is held.
Clamping parameters and circuit fit
The reverse standoff voltage is 102V, meaning the device does not conduct appreciably below that DC voltage level — it sits across the protected rail as a high-impedance shunt until a transient exceeds the threshold. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 108V, and the clamping voltage at peak pulse current (9.2A) is 173.25V max. For a 102V nominal rail, this clamp ceiling determines the downstream device's survival voltage — any component on that rail must withstand at least 173V for the pulse duration without secondary breakdown. The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package is through-hole mounted, suited for point-to-point wiring or PCB layouts where the lead bend forms the standoff from the board.
Package and procurement details
The device is not rated for power line protection (no bidirectional configuration), so it is best applied on signal or DC bus rails where a unidirectional clamp to ground is appropriate. General-purpose application scope covers most non-automotive transient suppression tasks within the voltage and power envelope.
