Clamping performance and protection envelope
The 10.2 V reverse standoff means the diode stays in standby below that DC voltage — it only conducts during the overvoltage event. Breakdown occurs at 10.8 V minimum, giving a narrow guard band between the nominal rail and the clamping threshold — useful for protecting 12 V buses where the regulation tolerance is tight.
Package and integration note
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the 1.5KE12-B mounts through-hole. The DO-201 footprint is standard across the 1.5KE series, so a board already laid out for a sibling in this family accepts this part without a layout change.
