80 mA hold, 15 V — the overcurrent threshold that matters
The 0603L008YR is a Littelfuse POLY-FUSE polymeric PTC resettable fuse in the 0603L series, designed to protect low-voltage DC rails from overcurrent faults. Its 80 mA hold current (Ih) is the continuous load it carries without tripping; above that, the internal polymer heats and the resistance jumps to a post-trip maximum of 12 Ohms, limiting the fault current. Rated for a maximum voltage of 15 V and a maximum fault current of 40 A, this part suits battery-powered portable electronics, USB peripherals, and other 5–12 V rails where a resettable overcurrent protector is preferred over a one-time fuse.
0603 footprint, surface-mount — board-fit constraints
The initial resistance (Ri) is 2.5 Ohms minimum, and the post-trip resistance (R1) rises to 12 Ohms maximum. The 1 s time-to-trip at 25 °C means the fuse clears a fault within one second under rated conditions — fast enough to protect downstream silicon from sustained overcurrent.
Active production, cURus and TUV approved
For designs that need a resettable fuse at this hold current and voltage, this part is a direct BOM fit with no substitution guesswork.
