What the 7 A rating means for your board
The 0451007.NRL is a Littelfuse NANO²® 451 series fast-blow surface-mount fuse rated 7 A continuous at both 125 V AC and 125 V DC. The 50 A breaking capacity at rated voltage means it safely interrupts a fault current up to that level without rupturing the package or sustaining an arc — critical for clearing a hard short on a 125 V rail where the available fault current can exceed the fuse's own continuous rating by an order of magnitude.
Fast-blow response and melting I²t
The fast-blow characteristic means the fuse element is designed to open quickly on overcurrent — no intentional thermal delay. The melting I²t of 10.32 A²s is the energy required to melt the element; for a downstream semiconductor (rectifier, MOSFET, DC-DC converter), the fuse must clear before the device's own I²t rating is exceeded. A 7 A fast-blow with this I²t typically coordinates with a 10 A or 12 A silicon junction in a 125 V rail.
Package, footprint, and temperature envelope
Housed in a 2-SMD square end block package measuring 6.10 mm x 2.69 mm x 2.69 mm, the 0451007.NRL mounts on the board surface — no through-hole leads, so the reflow profile must match the solder paste's peak temperature.
