Wide-temperature tantalum for harsh environments
The TPSA225M016R3500 is a molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TPS series, rated 2.2 µF at 16 V with ±20% tolerance. The 3.5 Ohm ESR at 100 kHz sets the ripple-current ceiling; for a 2.2 µF part in a 1206 case, that ESR is typical and means self-heating stays manageable under moderate AC ripple.
1206 footprint and board-fit note
Packaged in a standard 1206 (3216 Metric) case, size code A, measuring 3.20 mm x 1.60 mm with a seated height of 1.80 mm max. The surface-mount footprint matches industry-standard 1206 solder pads; no special via-in-pad or thermal-relief pattern is required for this ESR level. Supplied on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape, compatible with pick-and-place assembly.
