Automotive Hall latch with 3.5 mT trip threshold
The Infineon TLV4961-1TBXALA1 is a south-pole-activated Hall-effect latch from the Automotive AEC-Q100 series. It switches on at 3.5 mT and releases at -3.5 mT, giving a 7 mT hysteresis window that rejects magnetic chatter in vibrating environments like engine compartments or transmission housings.
The open-drain output at 3 V supply sinks 25 mA max, which drives a PLC digital input or ECU GPIO directly without a level translator. The through-hole package suits prototype builds and MRO replacements where a reflow profile isn't available. The latch output toggles state with each alternating magnetic pole — it holds the last state until the opposite polarity appears, making it suitable for speed and position sensing on rotating shafts.
