Unipolar Hall switch for automotive position sensing
The TLI49462KHTSA1 is a unipolar Hall-effect switch from Infineon's Automotive AEC-Q100 series, designed for magnetic field detection with a south-pole activation threshold of 19.2 mT trip and -19.2 mT release. The open-drain output switches a load up to 20 mA, making it suitable for direct interface to a microcontroller or logic input. The part operates from a 2.7 V supply, compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V logic rails. Temperature compensation is built in, maintaining stable switching points across the -40°C to 125°C operating range. This covers under-hood and exterior automotive zones where ambient temperature swings are wide.
Sourcing and lifecycle status
Infineon Technologies is the sole manufacturer. The part is supplied in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) options for the SC59 surface-mount package.
Package and mounting consideration
The SC59 package (SOT-23 compatible footprint) is a three-lead surface-mount package. The open-drain output requires a pull-up resistor to the logic supply; the output current rating of 20 mA absolute maximum sets the minimum pull-up resistance at 2.7 V to 135 Ω. The south-pole activation means the magnetic field must be applied to the marked face of the package — confirm orientation during PCB layout.
