Active production — what it means for your BOM
The TLE4988CXTNM28HAMA1: This is a Hall Effect speed and current sensor in the PG-SSO-3-52 through-hole package, designed for applications that need a programmable, temperature-compensated magnetic threshold.
Sensing range and temperature envelope
The magnetic operating range spans -31.1 mT to 134.6 mT, which covers both north and south pole detection with a wide positive swing — suitable for gear-tooth or ferrous-target sensing where the air gap and magnet strength vary. The junction temperature rating of -40°C to 195°C places it well above standard automotive under-hood requirements (typically 150°C), so it handles exhaust-side or turbo-adjacent mounting without derating. Supply voltage is 4 V to 24 V, compatible with both regulated 5 V sensor rails and unregulated 12 V or 24 V vehicle batteries. The open-drain output sinks up to 15 mA, enough to drive a PLC input or a microcontroller pin with a pull-up resistor.
The PG-SSO-3-52 is a 3-pin single-in-line through-hole module — the 52 refers to the leadframe variant, not a pin count. It mounts directly into a PCB or a socket, and the through-hole body provides mechanical stability in high-vibration environments like engine compartments or industrial gearboxes. The single-axis sensing direction is perpendicular to the package face; orient the device so the target passes across the marked face.
