650 V CoolMOS™ — what this N-channel switch brings to the BOM
Its 6.2 A continuous drain rating and 750 mOhm Rds(on) at 10 V gate drive put it in the low-to-mid current tier of the 600 V–650 V class — sized for auxiliary supplies and lower-power SMPS where conduction loss is secondary to switching loss.
Infineon lists the SPA06N60C3XKSA1 as Obsolete. No last-time-buy window remains open through the factory channel.
Gate charge and switching — what 31 nC means for the driver
The ±20 V max gate rating leaves margin for ringing on long gate traces, but a gate resistor in the 10 Ω–47 Ω range is still recommended to damp the LC tank formed by the PCB inductance and Ciss.
Package and mounting — TO-220 Full Pack
The PG-TO220-3-31 (Infineon's Full Pack variant) is a through-hole, fully isolated tab package. Mounting torque follows standard TO-220 practice; the 32 W dissipation assumes a heatsink with good thermal interface. The package is compatible with existing TO-220 clip or screw-mount hardware, so a board re-spin is not required when swapping from a non-isolated TO-220 if the hole pattern matches.
