Product details

At 95 A, conduction loss is I²R = 95² × 0.004 = 36 W — that's a lot of heat to move through the D2Pak tab into the board. The maximum power dissipation is 200 W at the case (Tc) but only 3.8 W in still air at 25°C ambient (Ta), so the package absolutely needs a thermal pad and a copper pour to stay within the junction limit.

Infineon no longer manufactures this order code, so new-production buys are not possible through the factory channel.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy IRF1404STRR?

The IRF1404STRR is obsolete and no longer in factory production. Submit an RFQ for current availability and pricing — stock is confirmed at quote time, not listed on the page.

What is the best replacement for IRF1404STRR?

No official replacement order code is listed by Infineon for the IRF1404STRR. A functionally similar N-channel MOSFET in the same voltage and current class (40 V, ~160 A, D2Pak, 4 mOhm range) from the same or another manufacturer would need to be evaluated for gate drive, package footprint, and thermal performance. The IRF1404STRR is obsolete, so a cross-reference search against active 40 V D2Pak MOSFETs is the practical path.

Is IRF1404STRR still being manufactured?

No. The lifecycle status is Obsolete, meaning Infineon has discontinued production. No new factory orders are accepted.
